Havas Worldwide appoints Vivek Rao as ECD Mumbai

Vivek Rao has joined Havas Worldwide, Mumbai as Executive Creative Director. He will partner Shavon Barua, President West & South and help her with creative duties for Mumbai.

“I’ve been searching for a person to take charge of our Mumbai office and Vivek’s name kept cropping up. Leave alone the right credentials, pedigree and experience, Vivek is also full of enthusiasm and ideas about the way forward,” said Satbir Singh, Managing Partner and Chief Creative Officer, Havas Worldwide India

Rao started his career with Publicis Zen and then moved to McCann, Leo Burnett and Contract, before joining Publicis.

“When Satbir outlined his roadmap for Havas going forward, it clearly seemed like a great opportunity to be part of the reinventing process. I will try and apply all that I’ve learnt over the past so many years to propel Havas back to a place of a creative melting pot. It’s definitely an exciting prospect and as long as one keeps having fun on the job, it just makes the task that much simpler. There’ll be great days and off days, but hopefully much more of the former,” shared Rao.

Rao has worked on brands such as Pears, Vaseline, Band-Aid, Babool, Strepsils, Clearasil, Savlon, Sunfil, Heinz, P&G’s Tide, Reliance Communications, HDFC Standard Life, IOC, Asian Paints Royale, HSBC Mutual Funds, Citibank, Vicks, Henko Detergent, among others.

He has won accolades at ABBYs, Mirchi Kaan, Cannes, CLIO and NY Festival.
