GroupM on the lookout for an MD for MediaCom

MediaCom, the media arm of Grey Worldwide which till recently had two Presidents –Jasmin Sohrabji and Harish Shriyan – will soon have a new Managing Director at the helm of affairs. Sohrabji had quit the organisation in September 2006, while Shriyan has just put in his papers.

As is known, MediaCom is in the process of being merged in the GroupM framework. Vikram Sakhuja, Group CEO, MediaCom, said, “We are in the process of finalising a Managing Director, but until then Harish is on board and he is going to be there till the handover of operations is completed.”

Sakhuja further divulged that Kevin Clarke, CEO, MediaCom, APAC, was also personally looking at the India operations. “Kevin has made several trips in the last few weeks to know the clients and the business here better. MediaCom is a strong brand in India and we are very clear that we will give it the GroupM push to further strengthen the brand in India.”

The first focus under the new top management would be current clients and the organisation itself. An announcement on the new MD is expected shortly.
