Attracting some of the best minds in the business, both globally and in India, the Mumbai leg of the 13th edition of the exchange4media Conclave, presented by NewsX and powered by ZEE, will throw light on shifting media mindset and growth path ahead. Dominic Proctor, President of GroupM Global will address the gathering, sharing his views on the evolution of media and his expectations from the India market. The session will be chaired by Annurag Batra, Chairman and Editor-in-Chief of exchange4media Group.
The Conclave is being held in Mumbai on November 25, 2013.
Proctor assumed his new role in January 2012. Prior to taking responsibility for managing GroupM Worldwide operations, he spent 15 years as CEO of Mindshare Worldwide, a GroupM agency that he founded in 1997.
He began his agency career in 1979 and joined J Walter Thompson in 1986. In 1989, he became Media Director of JWT London before becoming Managing Director in 1991, and then Chief Executive in December 1992 – a position he held for five years. At the time, Proctor was the youngest executive ever to be named CEO; he also held a seat on the Board of Directors of JWT Worldwide.
In September 1997, Proctor launched Mindshare, WPP’s first-ever media agency. During the next 15 years, Mindshare grew to become one of the world’s leading media agency networks with 97 offices in 67 markets. Each dedicated to forging competitive marketing advantage for businesses and their brands.
As GroupM President, Proctor oversees the management of the company’s global media agencies worldwide, which in addition to Mindshare include Maxus, MEC, and MediaCom. GroupM’s regional heads as well as the CEOs of the company’s four major media agencies report to him.
He banks on leadership, scale and growth in India to expect market developments to be led from this region in the near future. Proctor wants India to go beyond financial contribution, and provide strategic and leadership products and innovation at the global level.
