Golfer Jeev Milkha Singh tees off for Barclays Bank in India

Barclays Bank has signed on Jeev Milkha Singh, one of India’s most successful golfers, as an endorser in India. Singh will represent the bank in various communications activities and engagements with clients.

Samir Bhatia, Managing Director for Global Retail and Commercial Banking at Barclays in India, said, “Jeev is a perfect example of success achieved through excellence, which is what Barclays is committed to. We want to succeed through excellence of our products, employees and our services in India.”

He further said, “Jeev also represents the spirit of today’s India, its fast moving economy, the meteoric rise of its companies on the world stage and the growth of the well-known ‘global India’ phenomenon. Jeev represents to us the global connection and importance we attach to India as a country and to Indians across the world.”

Barclays is one of the largest financial services groups in the world and has strengthened its commitment to India in recent years. In addition to its investment banking division, Barclays Capital, the bank has also established its Global Retail and Commercial Banking division in India in 2006.
