Maxus India has done it again. With 10 wins, including two Golds, the agency leads the Media Abby tally this year. With just one Gold less, Lodestar UM is second. Mindshare India and Mudra Max have bagged a total of six and five metals, respectively.
The Media Abby took place on April 8, 2011 at GoaFest.
Maxus India’s two Golds were for clients Tata Sky and for Indian Premiere League 3. The agency won a total of six Silver metals and two Bronzes.
In a conversation with exchange4media, Ajit Varghese, MD, Maxus India, said, “Maxus has consistently shown the way in creativity. We, in fact, had 33 shortlists in GoaFest this year. A big ‘thanks’ to our clients who continuously encourage us. We would have been happier with more awards being celebrated at GoaFest, but the round two judging was unnaturally stingy this year. But like all other things, in good spirit, we will have fun and continue with our creativitis in media.”
Lodestar UM won its Gold for ‘Amul Masterchef’. The agench has also won six Silver metals and two Bronzes.
Nandini Dias, Chief Operating Officer, Lodestar UM, said, “We have been doing differentiated work on Amul year on year. Last year, we had been awarded for the Best Media Strategy in Consumer Category or the tie-up with the Netherland team for changing packaging, depending on our media sponsorships. This year, too, we have broken all sorts of norms with the kind of work we did with Star Plus with ‘MasterChef’. And let me remind you that ‘MasterChef’ was an international formatted show.”
Mindshare has settled on the third spot with a total of six wins that included five Silvers and one Bronze.
R Gowthaman, Leader, Mindshare South Asia, said in a candid comment, “GoaFest continue to elude us. May be we are not doing something right when it comes to Media Abby. I am happy for Team Unilever for bagging all six metals. While it was not part of Media Abby, but I was happy for the win in Digital, as that was our core. Looking forward to winning some more on April 9 as well from Dialog Factory, the experiential marketing unit we have launched this year.”
Mudra Max took the number four spot with one Gold and four Bronze Abbys.
Pratap Bose, CEO, Mudra Max, confessed, “I am not ecstatic – we had done much better last year. But this gives us enough spurs to turn it into a better performance next year. I must add that I was extremely disappointed with the judging process, and the fact that six out of 11 were from GroupM/ WPP, in the jury.”
Madison Media Plus won four Silvers in all.
OMD India won a Gold and a Silver.
Creativeland Asia cornered two Golds, while MEC was awarded two Silvers.
MediaCom India won a Gold and a Bronze.
Isobar won a Bronze Media Abby and McCann WorldGroup won a Silver.
