GoaFest 2007: A sneak peek of the agency offerings this year

Although there is still time for the advertising industry to descend in Goa for GoaFest 2007, which will be held on April 20-21, 2007, excitement is already building up. With agencies sending in their best work done in the last one year, exchange4media.com provides its readers a peek at some of the hot contenders for the various awards.

Starting with Bates Enterprise, the agency has sent in close to 25 entries, some of them being Killer Jeans, IDBI, Marico Corporate, Benadryl cough syrup and Integriti Jeans, among others.

While the agency believes that Killer Jeans could be a strong contender in the print, outdoor and ambient media categories, it feels that Benadryl stood a chance in the outdoor and ambient media categories. Tata AIG Life Retirement Options, Arogya Milk and 'The Times of India' partnering 'Sandesh' in Gujarat campaigns have a fair chance to win too.

TBWA\ India, too, has reportedly sent in several entries for the various awards categories. Some of the works which they hope would win some metals include Standard Chartered Bank, Samsonite, American Tourister, Nivea, and Zandu Balm, among others.

Leo Burnett has sent in close to 100 entries and has put their faith on the 360-degree campaign for Bajaj fans to bag a few metals at Goa. For the TVC category, the agency has sent the Chocoliebe campaign, while for the print media their best bet is Jungle Lodge.

For the radio section, the agency has Shankar's obedient school, (a dog training school) and Bajaj fans as their front-runners, while they believe their work for Complan would also win them a metal in the ambient media category.

The race has just begun for the GoaFest 2007. With the deadline for entries expiring on March 5, the top contenders for the awards will become known in the coming days. Watch this space for more news and developments.
