Foreign satellite operators seeks relaxation in regulations

Foreign satellite operators like New Skies Satellite, Europe Star and Eutelsat and Global VSAT Forum feel that the Indian government should relax the regulations and the licensing in the satellite sector for the foreign satellite operators to create a more investor-friendly environment.

Doug Tribelhorn, CEO of GlobeCast, a satellite company, in his keynote address on ‘New Vision for Satellite Communication in the 21st century’, said that their company was keen on setting up offices in India and will go for alliances. But that can only happen when the Indian government relaxes regulations for foreign satellite operators and service providers.
