Following global review, HP moves to Omnicom in India

Hewlett-Packard recently completed its global media review, and last week, the global media planning and buying duties of the business were awarded to the Omnicom Media Group. The India teams were also part of the global pitching. The account has consequently changed homes in India as well, and Omnicom Media Group will now handle this business in India as well.

Prior to this, Publicis Groupe’s ZenithOptimedia was handling the business across markets, including India. Even as an account size couldn’t be ascertained, industry sources pegged the business in the vicinity of Rs 80-100 crore.

As is known, Omnicom Media Group has its media brand OMD in India for the past two years now.

This would be one of the bigger businesses that Omnicom Media Group would handle in Delhi. OMD officials were not available for comment at the time of filing the report, but sources familiar with the development informed that Omnicom would soon begin the conversations on the handover of the business.
