Ex-Clea PR hand launches own agency; wrests TVS Motors account

Vijay Chacko, former VP-South, Clea PR, started his own shop, Brand Wave Communications, in January 2006. Since then, the agency has managed to line up an impressive tally of clients in its first three months, including TVS Motor Company (South).

Chacko’s new agency’s client list includes – besides TVS Motor Company (South) – Dhanus Technologies (Chennai), Xenos Technologies (Coimbatore), and Bangalore-based UTi, a logistics management company.

Speaking to exchange4media, Chacko said, “It is a South-based agency for now, and we will look to expand services to the North and the West soon. We are open to looking at partners to take forward this expansion. Our focus right now is to do justice to the clients who have placed their trust in us and given us their business. We are constantly exploring options of what we can offer the clients besides conventional PR agency offerings, and what kind of strengths and associates we need to rope in to offer these additional services.”

The start-up team is five-member strong, and growing.

Chacko had joined Clea PR’s Mumbai office in October 1996, and served the agency in various capacities in Mumbai, Bangalore and Chennai.
