ETV enters USA through DirecTV

Eenadu, the Hyderabad-based media behemoth founded by Ramoji Rao, has started international transmission of three of its channels from 4 pm yesterday for viewers in the USA through digital multi-channel television service providers DirecTV.

The transmission was launched by Suman, Managing Director, ETV today, wherein ETV Telugu, ETV Bangla and ETV Gujarati have been made available to American audiences. In Phase 2, the channel is expected to start transmission of three more channels - Infotainment channel ETV2, ETV Marathi and ETV Kannada. With Phase 2, six of the eleven channels from Eenadu will be available in the US.

Currently, the Indian channels offered by DirecTV include spiritual network Aastha, a 'Hindi Direct' bouquet comprised of Star One, Star Plus and Star News, and Tamil Entertainment Channel Star Vijay. It delivers access to more than 225 channels of programming across the United States.
