EMVIES 2016: Mindshare takes home the 'Agency of the Year' award; Hindustan Unilever bags the 'Media Client of the year' title

The gala event of EMVIES 2016 happened yesterday night in Mumbai. Mindshare was declared the Agency of the Year at the awards show and Hindustan Unilever bagged the ‘Client of the Year’ title. The Grand Emvie (Best Integrated Campaign - Consumer Products) was won by Mindshare and PepsiCo. A total of 971 entries were received this year, which is the highest ever in the 16-year history of the event.

Mindshare led the metals tally with 1 Grand Emvie, 8 Gold, 18 Silver and 15 Bronze, adding to a total of 395 points. It was also the agency with the highest shortlisted entries. Brooke Bond’s Red Label ‘6 Pack Band’ for Hindustan Unilever went to win the maximum metals for Mindshare. It was also one of the most cheered campaigns at the award show yesterday night.

There was a huge difference in the points tally and Lodestar UM came in the second place with 6 Gold, 3 Silver and 3 Bronze, with 135 points. The Door Step School brand for the campaign ‘A street naming event for Social Change’ went to win many awards for the agency.

At the third place was Maxus, with 4 Gold, 5 Silver and 5 bronze at 135 points. Next in line was Madison Media, with 2 Gold, 2 Silver and 5 Bronze awards. A year old Social Street was a new entrant at the seventh place in the chart, with 2 Silver and 3 Silver, adding to 35 points.

The Media Client of the Year was won by Hindustan Unilever. It won 7 Gold, 15 Silver and 11 Bronze awards, adding to 310 points. It was followed by PepsiCo India which got 1 Grand Emvie, 1 Gold, 2 Silver and 4 Bronze metals, scoring 75 points. Procter & Gamble came next in the winning with 1Gold, 3 Silver and 2 Bronze, adding to a total of 55 points. Door Step School came fourth with 3 Gold, and no bronze and silver awards with 45 points. Britannia Industries and Marico Limited both ended with 40 points each. Britannia took home 2 Silver and 4 Bronze. Marico came sixth with 1Gold, 2 Silver and 1 Bronze.
