The ad industry is gearing up for EMVIES 2008, which would be held on July 28 in Mumbai. Organised by the Ad Club Bombay, EMVIES recognise and award the most outstanding media initiatives developed over the year gone by. The first round of judging was held on July 7. This year, a record 452 entries have been received.
Apurva Purohit, CEO, Radio City, and Chairperson, EMVIES Committee, said, “The judging process at EMVIES has always been fair and transparent, and this year, too, we have kept the scale on a high. This year, EMVIES has managed to get 42 judges from the media fraternity, who will be judging a record number of 452 entries.”
“There has been a lot of improvement from last year, both in terms of quality and quantity of the work. The writing and presentation aspects of the entries have set a benchmark for other awards,” she added.
Bipin Pandit, General Manager, Ad Club Bombay, informed that this year, the Ad club had managed to get a three-year sponsorship for EMVIES. “It is always a challenge to better the last years’ event / awards, but this year, I think we have managed to live up to the expectations of both the industry and ours.”
Case study presentations would be held on July 21-22, while the EMVIES 2008 would be presented on Monday, July 28.
