Elephant augments packaging design team

With packaging playing a significant role in a brand’s health and growth, Elephant is set to further augment its Packaging Design practice.

In recent changes, Mayuri Nikumbh, alumnus of IDC (IIT) Mumbai, who was a Lead Designer with the independent strategic design outfit for over four years, has been elevated to the position of Principal.

Speaking about her new role, Nikumbh said, “I really look forward to the challenges with newer categories, markets, geographies and talents. We will be looking at a wider spectrum now including the luxury segment, electronics as well as sustainable packaging.”

She will be supported by Elodie Nerot, who joins Elephant after six years of packaging design experience in France, Spain and Japan. Nerot worked as Art Director at Atelier Pascalie agency in Paris before joining Elephant Pune.

“I am fascinated by the fusion of cultures here. I will map my European expertise of beauty and luxury segments on the tremendous knowledge of FMCG and retail practices that resides at Elephant,” said Nerot about joining Elephant.

Rochana Deb, alumnus of NID with eight years at Elephant will continue to focus on Corporate Identity and Branded Environments as Principal of these two verticals.

Elephant team has built a strong portfolio of leading brands in foods, healthcare, personal care, home care and leisure with award winning projects for clients that include ABD, Abbott, Akzo Nobel, Bausch + Lomb, Britannia, Godrej, Godfrey Philips, Heinz, HUL, Mars, MTR, P&G, Piramal, Venky’s and Wipro.

Talking about future plans, Ashwini Deshpande, Founder-Director Elephant said, “We have had the opportunity to create India-specific brands for some of the leading multinationals (absolutely latest being Nutriful MFD for Heinz) and to bring many leading Indian brands at par with the global benchmarks. We look forward to taking our offerings to the next level with this team.”

With 23 years of experience as a multi-disciplinary design consultancy, other practices at Elephant include Product Design, Retail and Branded Environments, Brand Strategy and Communication, Corporate Identity and Innovation Consulting.

Kranti Gada joined the family business at Shemaroo in 2006 after a successful stint of over two years in marketing at Pepsi Co. She has been associated with the company for 12 years.
