The exchange4media Conclave 2010 gets underway in Delhi today at the Taj Palace hotel. The theme for the Conclave this year is ‘Rebooting the Indian media and advertising industry’. Amid the several sessions in the day-long Conclave is the ‘Power Panel: Lessons of decade gone; rules of the next...’ that would discuss at length the lessons of the decade gone by, especially the slowdown period.

Veteran journalist Vir Sanghvi is the Session Chairperson. The panellists for this session are: Ashok Venkatramani, CEO, Media Content & Communication Services; Madhukar Kamath, CEO, Mudra Group; Jasmin Sohrabji, CEO, Omnicom Media Group; Sam Balsara, Chairman, Madison World; and Sivakumar Sundaram, CEO, Private Treaties.

The panelists will seek answers to pertinent questions such as if slowdown was, in fact, the turn when a company and the industry could revisit all aspects, then where are we as we get out of the slowdown? What aspects of the industry’s way of working have changed? How has our overall approach to various business models – whether agencies of media vendors – evolved? Did the slowdown truly teach us something about internal ecosystems, or was that just about haphazard cost cutting? Has collaboration found real meaning in the industry? What are the challenges that lay ahead, that become opportunities to once again grow the industry by 20-22 per cent?

The exchange4media Conclave, the annual flagship event of the exchange4media Group, is special this year as it marks the commencement of the Group’s 10th Anniversary celebrations. The theme for the Conclave this year is ‘Rebooting the Indian media and advertising industry’.

The exchange4media Conclave 2010 is presented by Dainik Jagran. The Delhi leg of exchange4media Conclave 2010 will be held on June 9, while the Mumbai leg will be held on June 11.
