Real estate major DLF has signed Shah Rukh Khan as its brand ambassador for one year. This is the first time that DLF has devised a focused and strategic marketing campaign using a brand ambassador.
DLF Chief Manager, Shalini Wadhwa, said, “We are using Khan as a brand ambassador for major activities, including advertising and extensive promotions across India.
There will be print ads and TVCs breaking by the end of September. We will be using him in the launches that DLF will be doing in the future.”
Wadhwa added that the reason for choosing him as brand ambassador was that he was the ‘king of Bollywood and also very savvy. Secondly, he was close to people’s heart in the same way as the DLF brand was, she added.
“Though Khan will not be used in the Tri-Series tournament involving India, Australia and West Indies, which will be held later in September in Malaysia, we will be using him for such events in future,” Wadhwa said.
It may be noted that Khan already endorses several brands, including Tag Huger watches, Compact Presario, Navratan oil and Pepsi to name a few.
DLF had recently earmarked Rs 100 crore for cricket sponsorship, cultural events and advertisements over the next two years.
