Dettol launches new commercial for Mother’s Day

To celebrate the contribution made by mothers all over India for their families, Dettol has created a special TV commercial with children thanking their mothers for all the love and protection they get. Dettol has also appropriately chosen Mother’s Day to launch its India website -- www.dettol.co.in. Euro RSCG has done the creative for the campaign.

The new TVC on Mother’s Day has young children thanking their mother for the love and care. The commercial ends on a touching note – ‘From one protector to another. Dettol wishes all mothers a Happy Mother’s Day!’

Satbir Singh, Chief Creative Officer, Euro RSCG, said, “The commercial is all about the mothers who is shown caring and protecting the child. It shows the caring and protective nature of Dettol. And the two converge together.”

Chander Mohan Sethi, Chairman and Managing Director, Reckitt Benckiser (India) Ltd, said, “For over 60 years, Dettol has been working with mothers to provide solutions to keep their families protected. This Mother’s Day, through our new TV commercial, Dettol salutes all mothers for their selfless dedication throughout the year, as we reinforce our commitment to provide germ-free protection for families.”

The commercial is running currently at all the entertainment channels and will be on air for a week.

Dettol’s website goes live on Mother’s Day on May 13 and gives a chance to send a Dettol Mother’s Day e-card. The website also has information about Dettol products, along with the ‘My Family’ series that gives relevant information to mothers on first aid, good hygiene practices, and care for newborn baby.

On the launch of the website, Stefan Gaa, Regional Marketing Director, Reckitt Benckiser (India) Ltd, said, “Mothers are always scouring for information to ensure their family is protected from illnesses. As the leading authority on germ protection, Dettol now provides her this information at a click. This website also gives a chance to all our consumers to know more about the brand and its initiatives in an interactive format.”

The ‘Dettol Germ Protection Centre’ has latest news, myths and realities on the Avian Flu (bird flu). There are also detailed information on Dettol’s social programme ‘Dettol Surakshit Parivar’, an endeavour to promote hygiene practices across India. An entire portion of the website has been designed completely for children where they can play games, quiz and also learn about good hygiene. The website has been designed by Net Prophets, India.
