Delhi Advertising Club gears up for the New Year with a slew of activities

Following the recent appointment of Vivek Syal, VP-Marketing, Hero Honda, as President of the Delhi Advertising Club (DAC), the Club has chalked out a slew of activities for the coming year.

DAC proposes to have a minimum of four lectures during the year on subjects including Copy Writing / Creativity and Readership related IRS, among others. In addition, there are plans are to conduct two advertising and marketing seminars whose topics would by the DAC Board. An outstation excursion has also been proposed in the last week of January 2007.

There is also a proposed National Awards for excellence in advertising. Besides, Syal has also proposed networking with other advertising clubs of the country to explore the possibility of the concept of making ‘One India and One Award’.

The first event planned is an Advertising, Marketing and Media Quiz, which will be held in the second week of December 2006. Also, a talk on ‘How to develop the best creative and its copy’ is likely to be held in the first week of January 2007.

Syal further announced that he would ensure that everyone in the advertising fraternity of Delhi and the NCR became members of the Delhi Advertising Club. He re-emphasised on more participation from the bigger advertising agencies.

Syal further said that efforts were on to bring all upcountry advertising clubs on one platform so that at least two events could be collectively organised for the benefit of advertising fraternity of all major metros.

He also proposed a DAC National Award (ICE Award), which is likely to be held on the last week of April 2007.
