DDB MudraMax wins media mandate of Kalyan Silks

Kalyan Silks, a well known brand from Kerala, has handed over its media mandate to DDB MudraMax. The pitch saw participation from multiple agencies. The size of the account is pegged at Rs 25 crore.

The business will be handled out of DDB MudraMax office in Bangalore.

Commenting on the development, TS Pattabhiraman (aka Swami), Chairman and Managing Director, Kalyan Silks said, “We are very happy to associate with DDB MudraMax as it is a well reputed and extremely trustworthy agency. Kalyan Silks was started in 1909 in Thrissur, Kerala. Over the last century it has expanded to other cities in Kerala including Cochin, Palakkad, Calicut, Kannur and Kottayam. It also launched its first store overseas in Karama, Dubai in 2011. It has plans to expand to Sri Lanka, Singapore, Malaysia and the Gulf region.

On winning the account, Gopi Nair, AVP and Head, DDB MudraMax said, “Kalyan Silks is one of the top players in the fast growing retail industry and we are immensely pleased to work with them. DDB MudraMax’s clients include ACC, Aircel, Ashok Leyland, Asian Paints, Birla Sun Life, BPCL, Colgate, Gillette, Hewlett Packard, Hindustan Times, ITC, Johnson & Johnson, Kotak, L&T, LIC, Nirmal Lifestyle, Pepsi, Reebok, Samsung, Standard Chartered Bank, Star, Tata, Titan, Volkswagen, Wipro Consumer Care, Yamaha, to name a few.

Kranti Gada joined the family business at Shemaroo in 2006 after a successful stint of over two years in marketing at Pepsi Co. She has been associated with the company for 12 years.
