DDB Mudra leads at AdFest; McCann, Leo Burnett get a Gold each

DDB Mudra leads at AdFest; McCann, Leo Burnett get a Gold each

After the announcement of winners in nine categories, DDB Mudra is leading the metal tally from India grabbing nine metals in total at AdFest 2012. Leo Burnett is next with seven metals including a Gold. McCann Worldwide follows with five metals, grabbing a Gold too.

The categories in which the awards have been declared are Press Lotus, Outdoor Lotus, Cyber Lotus, Direct Lotus, Promo Lotus, Design Lotus, Print Craft Lotus, Film Craft Lotus and New Director Lotus. The winners for remaining categories will be declared tonight.

Here is a look at the various categories and the winners:

Press Lotus – 8 Metals

McCann Worldgroup India leads the Press Lotus category with three Silver metals for brand Onida i21 entries titled ‘City’, ‘Forest’, and ‘Sea’ and a Silver Campaign metal for the same entry. DDB Mudra is second with a Silver Campaign metal for brand Coffee Gold entry titled ‘York Blackout/Armenian Internet Shutdown’ and a Bronze for Passat entry titled ‘Old Lady.’ Leo Burnett has won a Silver Campaign metal for brand Broken Compass entry titled ‘Travelogue: American Flag/RussianVodka/Mayan Palace’ while Grey has won a Bronze metal for brand FinePix S4000 entry titled ‘Two-faced Beauty Pageant’ bringing home a total of 8 metals in this category.

Outdoor Lotus – 7 Metals
McCann Worldgroup India has bagged Gold in this category for brand Hard Rock Cafe entry titled ‘Blind Car.’ Leo Burnett has earned a Silver metal for brand Mobile Tracking Software entry titled ‘Boomerang Music.’ DDB Mudra has won a Silver for Stedfast for entries titled ‘Jumbled Conspiracy: Torture Room/ Bed Room/ Locker Room’ DDB Mudra has won four bronze metals, one for brand Rotaract entry titled ‘Cleanoscope’ and three for brand Stedfast entries titled ‘Bed Room’, ‘Locker Room’, and ‘Torture Room’.

Direct Lotus – 4 Metals

A Silver has gone to DDB Mudra for brand Lass Natural Cosmetics entry titled ‘Disappearing Discounts’ and to Grey Worldwide for brand Pantene Hair Fall Protection Shampoo entry titled ‘Magic Drain Opener.’ Ogilvy & Mather and Leo Burnett have won a Bronze each for entries titled ‘Chanting Lighter’ for Cancer Patients Aids Association and ‘Door Step School- ink Pad’ for Literacy programme respectively.

Design Lotus – 1 Metal
Leo Burnett is the only agency from India that has won a Design Lotus this year. It has brought home a Gold for entry titled ‘‘Gandhifont – Now in hardcover’ for brand Gandhifont.

Print Craft – 4 Metals

Leo Burnett leads this category with 3 Bronzes. It has won a Bronze Campaign for brand Bajaj Exhaust Fans entry titled ‘Reclaim Your Space: Cigarette/Fish/Socks’ in two categories – Campaign for Production Design/Styling and Campaign for Best Use of Photography. The third Bronze campaign metal is for its entry titled ‘Fragrance: Fisherman/Onion, Seller/Cook’ for Tide. DDB Mudra Group has also won a Bronze Campaign for its entry ‘Corruption: Root Out Corruption 1/Root Out Corruption 2/Root Out Corruption 3’ for Rotaract Club.

India could not fetch any metals in Cyber Lotus, Film Craft, New Director Lotus and Promo Lotus categories.
