DAC Awards for Excellence in Advertising to be held in Delhi on April 25

The Delhi Advertising Club is all set to showcase the 10th DAC Awards for Excellence In Advertising 2004. The mega event will be held on April 25 at the Conventional Hall, Hotel Ashok, in the Capital from 6.00 pm onwards.

Spanning across 21 categories, the awards ceremony will be sponsored by ABP Group and will be anchored by TV and Film personality, Aman Yatan Verma.

Foods, Beverages, Toiletries and Household Care, Consumer Durables, Media, Travel and Hospitality, Clothing, Footwear and Accessories, Agency of the year, Campaign of the year are some of the award categories. Besides, the Copywriter of the Year and the Art Director of the Year will walk away with a cash prize of Rs 20,000 each .

DAC has received over 500 entries and a team of 35 judges, including 18 senior most Creative Directors of the leading advertising agencies, has judged the entries. Anil Warner of JWT, Viral Pandya of Saatchi & Saatchi, Rupam Borah of Leo Burnett, Munmun Aggarwal of K- Factor, Abhijeet Sarkar of Sahara Group, Anil Rajput of ITC to name a few.

On the judging process, V K Chopra, President of DAC, said, "All efforts have been made to bring absolute transparency in the judging process thereby building confidence among the advertising agencies who have been participating. As regards judging by Creative Directors are concerned, such a large contingent has been invited by any ad club for the first time."

When asked on the marketing strategy for promoting the event, Chopra said, "The so-called marketing strategy adopted has been to involve Creative Directors of the leading advertising agencies of the country so that they could contribute by sending large number of entries."
