The Youth Labs – Creative, an initiative undertaken by Goafest for the first time, wherein young people from across creative agencies were called to showcase/ discuss their work that may been rejected, ideas not shared with their bosses, or their own ideas they wanted to get a senior leader’s perspective on.
The concept was also to seek advice from creative leaders on ideas they may have had and lacked confidence on execution.
The Youth Labs also aimed to be a platform to encourage and guide young people across agencies to get a perspective and time on their ideas from leading creative leaders of the industry.
This being the first year, saw a small turnout which had the advantage of a detailed discussion for each individual with Santosh Padhi, Co- Founder and Chief Creative Officer, Taproot India .
“Anything you do to guide, encourage, and push the future generation is always a good idea. Being the first year there were less participants, but there was mix body of work right from TVCs to digital to print to innovation ideas, ( which included a gem of a new age idea). In future it needs to be planned properly from either sides, as it a great platform for youngsters,” said Padhi.
“The Youth Lab is a great initiative by Goafest. I genuinely felt that the participants gained a lot from the interactions. Next year we will start the Youth Labs communication earlier so that more people have an opportunity to apply,” said Rohit Ohri, Chairman Dentsu India and CEO, Dentsu Asia Pacific (South).
