Maruti Udyog Ltd has called for a creative pitch for its spare parts business. Taking part in the pitch are agencies like Crayons Advertising, Bates, and TBWA, among others. It is know that the pitch was called in the first week of October 2008. The budget for the agencies per quarter is Rs 50 lakh, while the total budget for the year is Rs 2 crore annually.
This is the first time that Maruti has called for a pitch for its spare parts pitch. The auto major has plans to brand its spare parts. Senior industry sources have confirmed the news.
The first round of presentations took place in December 2008. The second round took place is on January 15, 2009. At the end of the presentations, Maruti will select one agency to handle the creative mandate for its spare parts business.
The creative agency will be required to work on BTL activities, which include designing a logo, OOH hoardings, etc.
When contacted by exchange4media, Maruti officials refrained from commenting in the development.
