Cochin Ad Club back with 7th edition of Pepper Awards

The Advertising Club Cochin and Pepper Creative Awards Trust have jointly announced the 7th edition of Pepper Creative Awards, touted as the largest creative awards in South India and the second largest in India.

Call for entries have been sent to all ad agencies in South India. A panel of eminent personalities from India’s creative world will evaluate the entries for Pepper 2013. The last date for receiving entries is March 15, 2013.

The Jury members for Pepper 2013 include Prathap Suthan, Managing Partner/ Chief Creative Officer, Bang In The Middle; Priti Nair, Director & Founder Curry-Nation; Raj Nair, Chief Creative Officer, BMB India; and Rajiv Rao, National Creative Director, Ogilvy & Mather India.

Commenting on the jury panel this year, Oommen Kurian, Chairman, Pepper Creative Awards Trust said, “The four persons have proven credentials in heading juries of similar nature at national and international levels. All of them have bagged many awards at Cannes, New York Festival, London International, Adfest Asia Pacific, Clio, One Show, Media Spikes, Euro Effie, etc., for their creations.”

This year, Pepper 2013 will be using a fully automated online platform for accepting entries under some categories such as TVC, Radio, and Digital, among others. Entries for Press, DM, Outdoor, and Collaterals categories can be sent as physical formats. The online technical support is being provided by GBA (Global Best Awards), a New York-based company, while the payment gateway will be set by Federal Bank.

According to GBA, Pepper 2013 will be the first award to use the online platform in India for accepting entries. PK Natesh, Chairman, Pepper Awards 2013 said, “If this is a success, we will be using only online platform for accepting entries from next year onwards.”

“We are expecting more than 2,000 entries for the competition, which has become a stepping stone for creative fraternity from this part of the world to take part in other major peer reviewed national and international competitions,” said Sandeep Nayar, President, Advertising Club Cochin.

The awards categories include Agency of the Year Award, Advertiser of the Year, Art Director of the Year, Copywriter of the Year, Special Jury Award, Campaign of the Year, Press Campaign, TV Commercial, Corporate AV, Outdoor, Radio, Interactive – Web-based, viral, film craft, radio craft, POP, Direct Mailer, Photography, Packaging, Logo Design, Unpublished works, PR and Promos.

The seventh edition of Pepper will also have an exclusive section for participants from Kerala under categories such as Jewellery, Real Estate, Textile, Hospitality, Ayurveda and others.

Kranti Gada joined the family business at Shemaroo in 2006 after a successful stint of over two years in marketing at Pepsi Co. She has been associated with the company for 12 years.
