Close to 500 entries received for Ad Club Madras' Maddys Awards

Maddys 2014 Awards, organised by The Advertising Club Madras, has received close to 500 entries this year. The entries have been received from 48 organisations across 33 categories, including TV, radio, print, posters outdoor/ ambient, events, digital, unpublished annual report covers, etc. This is a huge leap from last year’s 328 entries.

Changes in the format of judging as well as presentation of the awards have led to different branding of the event.

Commenting on the number of entries, Karthic Moorthy, President, Advertising Club Madras said, “The increase in the number of entries is a testament to the quality of the awards. It clearly showcases the loyal following and growing competitiveness of the participants. We have made enough arrangements to ensure the judging to be on higher competitive standard.”

A jury panel comprising Ramanujan Sridhar, CEO, Integrated Brand-Comm; KV Sridhar, NCD, Leo Burnett; and advertising veteran Mohammed Khan will judge the entries received for the Maddys.

Daily Thanthi is the title sponsor for the Awards for the sixth consecutive year. The Maddys Awards is powered by Hello FM and co-sponsored by Ananda Vikatan. exchange4media is the community partner. Other sponsors include Indian Terrain, ITC PaperKraft, Hyatt Regency, Ecube and Unique Graphic Printers.

Ad Club Madras’ first ever format of the awards, Advertising Art Exhibition South India Awards Night was conducted and became a prestigious annual event of the Ad Club Madras in 1977, attracting entries from agencies from all over South India.
