Chennai-based 1 Point Size bags Agency of the Year Award at Pepper 2008

1 Point Size, a Chennai-based agency, has won the Agency of the Year Award at the second edition of Pepper 2008, the annual creative award competition of the Advertising Club of Cochin. Agency of the Year Award was accorded on the basis of the maximum points 1 Point Size received on all categories of the competition.

TBWA\India was the runner-up while Malayala Manorama was adjudged Advertiser of the Year. Ananda Narayan and Payal Shah won the Copywriter and Art Director of the Year awards, respectively.

Pepper 2008 had invited entries from agencies across South India and had received more than 600 entries from 55 agencies. The Awards were presented at a glittering function on March 28 in Kochi.

Of the 600 entries, 62 were selected under various categories of the competition, while 27 were selected as finalists. A team comprising top ad professionals such as Prathap Suthan, National Creative Director, Cheil Communications, S-W Asia; Josy Paul, Chairman & National Creative Director, BBDO India; and Sajan Raj Kurup, Founder Chairman & Chief Creative Officer, Creativeland Asia, evaluated the entries and selected the winners.

“We are now confident to invite agencies from all over the country to compete in the coming years. Our endeavour is to make the creative award competition of the Cochin Ad Club a globally benchmarked premium event. We hope the legend of Pepper and the creative spirits of the present would gel well to create a niche for Kochi in the global creative space,” said PK Natesh, President of the Club.
