Canon India has appointed PerceptH Mumbai as their creative agency. The company already has Dentsu Marcom on board, which has been handling the account for a long time.
Confirming the development, Alok Bharadwaj, Vice-President, Canon India, said, “The reason for roping in PerceptH was that we were looking for a more localised agency in the Mumbai market. PerceptH’s competency and knowledge of the Mumbai market was fairly good and hence, we appointed them as our creative agency.”
He further said, “PerceptH Mumbai will be handling the print campaign for printers and cameras, as well as the outdoor campaign. Our other agency, Dentsu Marcom, is concentrating on electronic cameras and business imagery solutions. The print campaign broke in July in all the main dailies and we are extending it in September to the rest of the country. As part of our outdoor campaign, we have involved 40 bus shelters and billboards in Mumbai. The television campaign will break in October.”
Bharadwaj sid that Canon would be spending Rs 40 crore on above the line activities, which would be split between PerceptH and Dentsu Marcom.
Commenting on the account win, Prabhakar Mundkar, COO, PerceptH, said, “We are really excited about winning this account. We have a keen interest in categories like camera and printers. We have recently broken a print campaign in Mumbai for Canon.”
