Cannes Lions 2017: 2 Golds, 2 Silvers & 3 Bronzes on Day 6 take India's metal tally to 39




With Indian agencies picking up seven more metals in three categories: Creative Effectiveness, Film Craft and Radio, on Day 6 of the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity 2017, India’s metal tally stands at 39, making it the country’s best performance to date.







Out ofthe five shortlisted entries in the Creative Effectiveness category, four converted to metals.BBDO India won aGold and aSilver for ‘Ariel Share the Load’ and ‘Dads #ShareTheLoad’ respectively, while Leo Burnett won a Gold for ‘Bajaj V- The Nation’s Bike’. Ogilvy & Mather won a Silver for ‘Beauty Tips By Reshma’.







The sole shortlisted campaign in the Film Craft category, Da Da Ding by Wieden + Kennedy, Delhi,which celebrates the Power of Sport in women’s lives,won a Bronze.



In the Radio category, McCann WorldGroup and Ogilvy & Mather won a Bronze each for the campaigns ‘Dermaclinix - the Scientist’ and ‘#NotMusicToMyEars’, respectively.







In the Digital Craft category, the results of which were also announced on Friday, India had no shortlisted campaigns.







The last awards ceremony will take place on Saturday evening, where the winners for the Film Lions, Integrated Lions and Titanium Lions will be announced. India has one shortlist - Taproot Dentsu’s ‘Odds’ campaign in the Titanium Lionscategory,in which India has not bagged a single metal in more than five years (Titanium and Integrated Lions were treated as one category until 2015). The Film Lions have fetched us four shortlists this year. While it is clear that 2017 is India’s best performance at Cannes so far, it remains to be seen howwellwe can raise the bar, with all eyes on the five shortlisted entries still awaiting a verdict.
