Cannes Lions 2011: BBDO India’s W.A.L.S. paves the path to inaugural Creative Effectiveness Lions shortlist

Shortlists for the first ever Creative Effectiveness Lions at Cannes Lions have been announced and BBDO India is the sole Indian entry to find a place in this shortlist for its well-known W.A.L.S. (Women Against Lazy Stubble) campaign for Procter & Gamble.

Jean-Marie Dru, Chairman, TBWA\Worldwide, is the President of the inaugural Creative Effectiveness Lions Jury. There is no jury member from India. In its first year, the Creative Effectiveness Lions category has received 142 entries from 33 countries, of which seven entries are from India.

Launching this year, the Creative Effectiveness Lions will honour creativity which has shown a measurable and proven impact on a client’s business – creativity that affects consumer behaviour, brand equity, sales, and where identifiable, profit. Only entries that were either shortlisted or Lions winners across all categories at Cannes Lions 2010 are eligible to enter into this category as these will have already been judged and established as being creatively world-class.

PricewaterhouseCoopers has reviewed each entry for the Cannes Creative Effectiveness Lions and checked that claims made therein are supported by appropriate data and that entries are internally consistent and mathematically accurate.

The Creative Effectiveness Lions trophies will be presented during the Film, Film Craft, Creative Effectiveness and Titanium and Integrated Lions Awards Ceremony, which will take place on Saturday evening, June 25, 2011, at the Grand Auditorium, Palais des Festivals.
