Cannes Lions 2011: 11 metals for India; Mudra leads in points

Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity has announced the winners of six categories, and the shortlists of three more. Indian agencies are looking forward to Press and Design winners, given that India would not be competing for Cyber Lions anymore.

In the meanwhile, the total metal tally for India at the end of day three is 11 Lions including one Gold and five Silver and Bronze Lions. Last year, India’s overall win at the Festival was 17 Lions.

Following the Cannes Lions’ Agency of the Year scoring process, Mudra Communications continues to lead the India tally. The agency has bagged one Silver Lion and two Bronze Lions. Mudra has a total of 13 shortlisted entries but agencies are awarded a maximum of 10 points for shortlists. The total hence, takes Mudra’s score to 21 at the end of day three.

BBDO India is one point behind with two Silver Lions, one Bronze and seven points from shortlisted entries.

Lodestar UM’s Gold allows it to tie with TapRoot India, which has a Silver Lion and two shortlists, and McCann Worldgroup, which has a Bronze Lion and four shortlisted entries.

Maxus follows with its Silver Lion.

Sorento Healthcare has left some leading advertising agencies behind with its Bronze Lion and one shortlist.

Contract Advertising, Creativeland Asia, Grey Worldwide and Ogilvy India each have two points from the shortlisted entries.

Happy, Joshbro, Out of Box and TBWA\India has one point each.

Still missing at the Festival are the likes of JWT India, Leo Burnett, Lowe Lintas and Publicis agencies amongst others.
