Cannes Lions 2008: Only 3 entries hortlisted in Films Lions; all from Ogilvy

The Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival 2008 announced the Films Lions shortlist on June 19. After the high that India has been on, Films Lions has been a disappointing category. There are only three entries shortlisted from India, and all are from Ogilvy & Mather.

The work ‘ATM’ done for Perfetti Van Melle’s Centerfruit candy has been shortlisted in the category ‘Sweets, Foods and Snacks’. The production agency for this is Corcoise Films. The other two shortlists are for Neo Sports in the ‘Publications and Media’ category. The entries are ‘Gas’ and ‘Rusty Nail’. The production company is Nirvana Films.

India had entered the same number of entries in 2008 as it had in 2007 – 77 entries in all. Last year, India has won three metals in this category. The jury president is Craig Davis, CCO, JWT Worldwide. Sonal Dabral, Chairman, India and Regional NCD, Bates David Enterprise, is the Indian jury member.
