BPL Group to merge Net, broadband arms

The BPL group has decided to merge its Internet service arm BPL Net and its broadband company BPL Broadband. The move is aimed at creating a “complete Internet protocol” business ranging from infrastructure to e-business solutions.

BPL Net currently provides Internet access and a range of e-business solutions to more than 1,400 corporate customers and Internet access to 60,000 retail subscribers. BPL Broadband is currently laying the infrastructure in the form of optic fibre backbones and data centres across major cities.
