Bose launches Wave Music System

Bose Corporation India has dished out its newest product - the Bose Wave Music System. The product is a sleek, smart panel that boasts of features like slot-load CD player and full control through a credit-card style infrared remote.

A unique feature about the Wave system is that it has a dual tapered wave-guide speaker technology. The system weighs only 3.9 kg as a result of the copper coated aluminium wire voice-coil. There are a host of regular features too like MP3 CD playback, headphone output, FM/AM, user selectable talk radio mode, etc.

Priced at Rs 29,900, Ratish Pandey, General Manager, Bose Corporation India, said that consumers have a reason to be "delighted with a product of such quality at such a reasonable price".

Interestingly, the system has a 48-hour power loss backup. Pandey said that anyone who loves good quality sound systems would form its target audience. The product, claimed Pandey, is touched by human hands "only twice throughout the whole production process".

The Bose India head clarified that manufacturing a consumer electronic product in India would require volumes to the tune of 1 million units, and hence "there are currently no plans for a manufacturing set-up in India".
