Bombay ad Club to hold 2nd Annual Media Awards on 15th April

The Advertising Club Bombay will hold its 2nd Annual Media Awards, the EMVIES, on 15th April 2002 as a separate stand-alone event. The event will be held at The Taj Chambers, followed by celebration at the Taj’s Insomnia.

Last year, it was part of the ABBY’s and the points earned by media added up to the ‘Agency of the Year’.

According to sources at the Ad Club, the changing media scene in the country has prompted a need for such an initiative. Media Planning and Buying function has come of age and the mushrooming media independents are a sign of the changes taking place in the media scene.

Over 80 entries were received under the categories Media Research, Media Strategy, Media Innovation and Media Marketer. Eminent panel of judges from media departments, clients and media marketers were invited to judge and arrive at a shortlist. The shortlisted entries were then presented at the Rang Sharda auditorium and evaluated by another panel of judges.

Daily Jagran, Mid-day and Videocon are supporting the event in form of sponsorships.
