The organisers of the 54th Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival have announced the members of this year’s Film and Press juries. Bob Scarpelli, Chairman and Chief Creative Officer, DDB Worldwide, will chair both juries.

Judging of the Press entries will take place over four days with the winners being announced at Cannes on June 20. The Film entries will be judged from June 17 while the winners will be honoured on June 23.

Terry Savage, Executive Chairman of the Festival, commented, “These two juries of talented award winning creatives from around the world will unite together in Cannes to honour great and inspirational work.”

From India, Ravi Deshpande, Chief Creative Officer of Contract, is among the jury in the Films Lions category. The others include Scarpelli from USA, Thor Santisiri, Chairman and Executive Creative Director, TBWA (Thailand), and Emma Hill, Group Creative Director, Clemenger BBDO Melbourne, among others.

In the Press category, India does not find any representation on the jury. Some of the jury members include Adam Lance, Creative Director, Independent (Australia), Khai Meng Tham, Co-Chairman, Ogivly & Mather Asia Pacific (Singapore), and Trong Tantivejakul, Executive Creative Director, Young & Rubicam (Thailand).

The 54th International Advertising Festival will be held from June 17-23, 2007, in Cannes, France. The Cannes Lions Festival is the largest gathering worldwide of advertising professionals and advertisers as well as the most prestigious annual advertising awards. Over 25,000 ads from all over the world are showcased and judged at the Festival. Winning companies receive the coveted Lion trophy, honouring the most creative TV/cinema, print, outdoor, interactive, radio, sales promotion, integrated advertising, as well as the best media and direct marketing solutions.
