BBDO India conceptualises the Gillette Mach3 Shave India Movement

The Gillette Mach3 Shave India Movement saw 2,000 men gather at Mumbai’s Chitrakud Grounds on December 14, 2009, in an attempt to create India’s first shaving world-record for most number of men shaved in a day in the same place!

Speaking on the occasion, Sharat Verma, Marketing Manager, Gillette India Ltd said, “This is truly an exciting moment for Gillette Mach 3 and the Shave India Movement to create India’s first shaving world record. Helping men look, feel and be their best has been the sole motive of Gilette. We have always been committed to improving the confidence of men.”

The initiative finds a place in the Limca Book of Records. Simultaneously, the Gillette Shaveathon is also aspiring to break the Guinness Book of World Records, previously held by the Gillette team in Singapore, currently holding the record of 1,580 men.

Neha Dhupia and Mugdha Godse have been roped in as key supporters of the Shave India Movement since its inception. Both were also present at the event to showcase their support to the Shaveathon participants.

The Shave India Movement and its many initiatives were conceptualized, created and executed by BBDO India, Mediacom, Corporate Voice/Weber Shandwick along with other activation partners.
