B’lore Ad Club lines up initiatives to go in full swing

After what seems like years, the Bangalore Ad Club (BAC) has finally woken up from its slumber. With the new committee in place, the Club promises a series of activities meant to rejuvenate ties among professionals from the ad-client and media fraternity.

R Sridhar, CEO, Brandcomm, who took over this June as the Bangalore Ad Club’s new President, is in fact serving his second term as head of the Club, having held the position in 1994. Speaking on the latest developments, he said, “We have quite a few new members in place now and are all geared up to ensure a great year ahead.”

One of the Club’s main objectives, according to Sridhar, is to increase member participation to a great extent. To ensure this, the Club has a long series of activities planned for the year ahead. BAC had recently organised a screening of some of the best advertisements from around the world and clubbed it with a Tambola night to boost interactivity.

Commenting on the Club’s prolonged hibernation, Sridhar said, “Most of the Club’s previous members were busy with their professional work and found it very difficult to devote time to the Club. Besides, member participation too had dropped drastically.” An interim committee of past presidents had been running the association till now.

The ad club’s future initiatives include a one-day workshop by Mohan Menon on creativity in client servicing, a tennis tournament, a function to felicitate Mani Iyer with a Lifetime Achievement Award and perhaps an awards evening.
