Ashish Bhasin plans taking SSC&B Lintas to the top slot

It has been only a day since he joined, but Ashish Bhasin is already ready with his plans for SSC&B Lintas. The agency’s new head is working towards a single goal – to take the agency to the top slot in next three to five years. Broad plans are chalked out and the teams are in place.

Following Ajay Chandwani’s exit from SSC&B, the agency is now in the hands of Bhasin, who was employed with Lintas as Director, Integrated Marketing Action Group. With the new responsibility, he would now play a dual role. Commenting on how he plans to manage this, Bhasin says, “SSC&B initially is going to take substantial amount of my time. But I will be shuttling between the two offices to see the responsibilities of both. Though presently, there is no need to beef up the teams, but we will be adding people as and when the need arises.”

For him, the objective is clear, “SSC&B is a successful mid-level agency. We intend on making it a top level one in the next three to five years. It’s going to be tremendous hard work and I am looking forward to it.”

The broad plans to move in this direction are in place. Bhasin shares that where the agency already is a good creative outfit, he intends to add a business angle. The plan is also to beef its strategic planning and client servicing. “Presently, top most priority is creative, then come account management and client servicing, while account planning and integrated marketing come next. There is no agency currently that gives a combination of all these services to the client and we intend to do just that,” states Bhasin.

His stint with Lintas began in 1988, when he joined as a management trainee. He worked on the Unilever business for eight years and then in 1996 was given the charge of the Lintas Madras office. For five years he took care of Initiative Media and has assumed the post of Director, IMAG since the last two years.
