Apple Inc recently announced the launch of two of their latest phones-iPhone7 and iPhone7 Plus at an event held in San Francisco on September 7. Both these phones will go on sale in the country on September 16. To promote the phones, a brand campaign has been launched which talks about the special features enabled in iPhone 7. The film has gone viral; it has clocked more than 3.5 million views on YouTube in a single day.
The 2:16 minute film talks about the new camera systems, stereo speakers and a most powerful chip ever in a smartphone. At the end, the brand claims that it is the best iPhone which they have ever made. The film is made in an engaging and informative manner; it educates the consumers, by providing them information of the special features which makes iPhone 7 stand out from the other iPhones.

According to reports, just before the launch of the phone, Apple which has always shied away from social media re-activated their Twitter account. However, on the D-Day, even before CEO Tim Cook could get on to the stage to launch the much-awaited phone, few videos and photos highlighting some of the top features of iPhone7 were shared on Twitter. Even though Apple took down the tweets, but it was being widely circulated.
Coming to the features in the phone, it has also been receiving a lot of backlash on social media after Apple removed the headphone jack in favour of earbuds that connect through the phone’s charging port for iPhone7. The brand has further unveiled a set of wireless headphones called AirPods that can be purchased separately at an extra cost. The water-resistant feature of the phone is also being criticised on the online medium.
Hilarious trolls and memes are also getting widely circulated on social media, taking a dig at the price at which the phone is coming.
Both iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus will go on sale in India on October 7, 2016. The prices will start from Rs 60,000 onwards. According to recent reports, the company has removed its iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus and iPhone 5s smartphone from its India website, indicating their discontinuation from the country.
This year, Apple Inc has increased their marketing spends for the Indian market and the brand promoted their iPhone 6 and 6S plus aggressively with the help of their campaign ‘Shot on iPhone’. It spoke about the camera which has an 8-megapixel primary rear camera and a 1.2-megapixel front selfie camera. Extensive outdoor campaign was also run across the country which included, top photos clicked using an iPhone 6 and iPhone 6S Plus from all across the globe which were on display.
