Another audio innovation from Bose, wireless audio link to spread the sound of music

One can expect only the best from Bose Corp. In keeping with its state-of-the-art audio innovations, the premier electronics company has introduced a homewide wireless audio link, an easy-to-set-up, room-to-room wireless solution for quality whole-home sound.

Christened the AL8 wireless audio link, the system works with any Bose Lifestyle DVD home entertainment system and consists of a transmitter (AL8) and a receiver (AR1), which come packaged together. The AL8 system can be set up within minutes and operates wirelessly by radio frequency.

The AL8 and each AR1 work together automatically by establishing a wireless link once plugged in. They then begin transmitting and receiving digital audio as well as control commands through the two-way wireless link. All Bose link speaker systems sold after June are compatible with the AL8 wireless audio link.

Elaborating on the new system, Ratish Pandey, General Manager, Bose Corporation India Pvt Ltd, said, “A wired system can cover up to 14 rooms, while a wireless system can cover up to eight rooms. Dual stream transmission will allow the user to select two different audio sources at the same time and free field circuitry will ensure a clear and consistent audio signal.”

The systems in other rooms can be controlled by a remote with an LCD display.

While the receiver and transmitter have been priced at Rs 24,900, the remote will cost Rs 11,900. Bose has tied with up various credit card companies and finance schemes are available. “There will be special festive discounts as well as in-store promotions. Promotions will also take place through the print media,” explained Pandey.

Meanwhile, the company is not looking at a manufacturing unit in India, but is looking at increasing distributorship. “India is the fastest growing market in Asia Pacific and our focus lies here,” said Dominic Waters, Director Marketing, Asia Pacific, Bose Corporation, USA.

Bose Corp, founded in 1964 by Amar Gopal Bose, is a privately held company with annual sales of $1.7 billion and has 8,000 employees.
