Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan and cricket star Sachin Tendulkar will be starring together for the first time in a new advertising campaign for Pepsi. The campaign, which is expected to hit the TV and celluloid screens by March end, will be the main campaign for Pepsi's summer charge.
Shot in Jodhpur by noted ad filmmaker Prahlad Kakkar, the one-minute film will be the first occasion where a company will be using the two superstars in a single ad campaign.
The summer campaign will consist of three major ad films. These include the recently launched Fardeen Khan and Rahul Khanna combine campaign, apart from a campaign with Sumo wrestlers which will be used during the World Cup football tournament in June this year. Pepsi also has begun ad campaign for 7 Up as well as Mirinda Orange.
Pepsi's main rival Coke has also started its summer campaign and is using three celebrities to endorse the mother brand Coke - these include actor Aamir Khan, Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai.
Coke has also roped in actress Sonali Bendre for its Limca brand. It is also starting special campaigns for Sprite and Fanta.
This year could be crucial for both the multinationals, especially as the beverage market has remained stagnant for the last two years.
