BARC India’s third week of 2017’s viewership and ad insertions data saw Amazon topping Top 10 Brands for the third consecutive time and strengthening its position in the Top 10 Advertiser list.
BARC’s Top 10 Brands Across Genres list saw the reappearance of many players but ecommerce giant Amazon.in continued to hold its top spot with 21,672 insertions. In fact compared to the previous week, it has nearly doubled its insertions this week. It didn’t see the mention of the other two ecommerce players Myntra and Snapdeal who had been aggressive with their advertising last two weeks. These three e-commerce players made a comeback to the list in week 1 (December 31-January 6).
Fogg Scent, Vodafone Superhour and Pizza Hut Pan Pizza returned to the list at second, fifth and eighth spots with 8426, 6988 and 5821 insertions respectively.
Lizol and Tide Plus took the ninth and tenth spots with 5743 and 5560 insertions.
Automobile brand Maruti Suzuki’s model Ignis fetched the sixth spot with 5821 insertions.
Old players like Airtel 4G, Dettol Liquid Soap, and Surf Excel Easy Wash climbed up the ladder claiming third, fourth and seventh spots with 7845, 7285 and 6087 insertions respectively.
In the Top 10 Advertisers list, the top three players FMCG company Hindustan Lever, Reckitt Benckiser India, Baba Ramdev’s Patanjali Ayurved and Cadbury India held on to their spots with 102534, 61127, 32270 and 29194 insertions respectively.
Amazon Online India Pvt Ltd and Procter & Gamble moved up to fifth and sixth spots with 27089 and 21118 insertions respectively.
Pond’s India and Brooke Bond Lipton India Ltd slipped to seventh and ninth spots with 19509 and 18624 insertions respectively.
Smithkline Beecham returned to the list at eighth spot with 18624 insertions.
ITC Ltd retained its tenth position with 17444 insertions.
