Alchemist launches Delhi ops; Nandini Bhupat is lead

Alchemist, the talent solutions company led by Manish Porwal (ex-CEO, Percept Talent Management and ex-MD, Starcom), launched its Delhi (NCR) office last week with communications expert Nandini Bhupat as its lead. Alchemist provides solutions to media, marketing and agencies in the field of human resources – both corporate and entertainment.

Commenting on the development, Porwal, Managing Director, Alchemist, said, “Gurgaon is the new Nariman Point and NCR is the new Mumbai. Delhi is almost 60 per cent of our business in entertainment talent and 33 per cent in the corporate vertical.”

On appointing Bhupat, he said, “We had been looking hard for our Delhi lead, and I am glad it is Nandini. She comes with a rich experience in marketing, marketing services and media – all three being our playground, and I am sure she would help grow our strong positioning up north.”

Bhupat has 13 years’ experience as a marketing and marketing services professional. She had started her career as an advertising professional with stints at FCB Ulka and then Rediffusion Y&R, handling brands like Colgate, TCS, Birla White, Holiday Inn, etc. After that, she switched to media with BCCL’s Private Treaties. She then added to her multi-dimensional experience as the Business Development Head at First Advantage, a Fortune 100 company. Before joining Alchemist, she was leading Corporate Communications at Dr Batra’s.

On her new role, she said, “In this era of co-creation, I am happy that I have joined a solutions company as against a services company that has either little say or doesn’t do what it says. I look forward to adding glitz through celebrity engagements and substance through our search and training offering.”

Anujita Jain, Founder and Chief Consultant at Alchemist, commented, “Delhi is fast turning into the largest entertainment and corporate talent consumption market. We are excited that Delhi now has a champion like Nandini to drive it for us. She will help us grow in scale and scope to our already glowing credentials in the market. With an ambitious goal of more than 200 per cent growth in the next FY, it wouldn’t have been possible without a permanent senior lead in the NCR.”

Alchemist is a three-year old organisation specialising in providing talent solutions both in the corporate (search, training and education) and entertainment (celeb management and marketing, turn-key solutions) world. It has built search and corporate training credentials across Asia with service companies like the BBC, Nimbus, Lodestar, ZenithOptimedia, Starcom Asia, DNA, Corporate Voice Weber Shandwick, The Times of India, and Fever FM, among others.

It is led by a board comprising Manish Porwal as MD, and Rajkumar Remalli and Anujita Jain as Directors.
