Airtel invites agencies for media pitch

Airtel, one of the leading telecom players in India, has invited agencies to pitch for its media mandate, confirm highly placed industry sources.

Madison media retained duties for the brand following a multi-agency pitch, which included agencies like TME (the media agency of Rediffusion Y&R), Starcom MediaVest, Percept, Mediaedge:cia, and Lintas Media Group, besides Madison Media. Some of these agencies went for the pitch along with their OOH outfits, such as Vector, Portland and Aaren Initiative. Emerging victorious and retaining the account in 2012 Madison also added Outdoor and digital to the existing media mandate. The agency has been handling media duties for the brand for around ten years now.

The telecom major has asked all media agencies invited to pitch for its media mandate to sign a non-disclosure agreement according to a highly placed industry source.

The brand has recently also been in the news for two of its new commercials by Taproot India.
