The Abby Awards 2007 are coming closer with the final event on March 3 all set to roll. Even as the entry deadline for the Young Abby Creative Director Awards has been extended to February 28, judging for current entries has already started rolling. The judging began on February 16 and will go on till the day of the final event. The judges comprised professionals from the advertising and media industry. The unanimous feeling was that the quality of entries this year, is considerably superior to that of last year.
Adrian Mendonza, Executive Creative Director, Dentsu, said, “Its good to see that the overall quality has improved.” Anil Kakar, Creative Director, Percept H, agreed, stating, “The quality of entries has improved considerably. Judging has become tougher now!”
Vikram Gaikwad, Creative Director, Grey Worldwide, reiterated, “The improvement is in the crafting of each of the campaigns that has been worked around quite interestingly.”
Bipin Pandit, General Manager, Ad Club said that they are pleased with the response. “The entry deadline for the Young Abby Award has been stretched till February 28,” he informed.
He added, “We have received a fantastic response this year. It feels fabulous to get so many entries. We are doing our best to ensure that there is full transparency in the judging as well.”
