Leo Burnett’s Portfolio Night, partnered by exchange4media, held in Delhi for the first time witnessed participation from young advertising copywriters, art directors, designers and several renowned creative directors. Since its debut in 2000, Mumbai has been one of most popular Portfolio Night cities. The event saw enormous response in the Capital, with participants coming from all parts of the Northern region.
The young guns got a chance to share their portfolios with some of the most senior and experienced creative honchos.
Agnello Dias, Co-Founder and Chief Creative Officer, Taproot India said, “At their age and experience, most of the work is outstanding, and if I compare myself at that age, I wasn’t even half as good as they are. Coming to Delhi or any other place than Mumbai has changed things for the better, because we get exposed to a variety of talent. It may be a good idea to do this in Bangalore or even Kolkata.”
Speaking about the level of creativity today, Dias said that it is going up but it is not always apparent because the measures being used for creativity are changing everyday.
Dias was one of the judges at the 11th edition of Portfolio Night on May 22, 2013 by Leo Burnett.
He shares his experiences on judging the young talent as well as the evolving trends in the industry.
