World leaders couldn’t agree on a single agenda at the Copenhagen climate talks, which remained inconclusive. However, saving planet Earth has become imperative and individuals and organisations are doing their bit for the environment. 141Sercon has embarked on a drive that will see the agency plant 5,000 trees as part of its 1Click, 1Tree initiative.
1Click, 1Tree is an online initiative that attempts to change the deteriorating environmental situation by just one click of the mouse. 141Sercon has launched a website (http://141sercon.com/1click1tree/index.html) wherein people can go and click on the link to any one of the five trees – Neem, Jamun, Gulmohar, Mango, and Peepul – the saplings of which the agency will plant on the individual’s behalf.
The agency in a release said, “This time, besides a BTL initiative it is also a BPL – Beyond Political Lines and BGL – Beyond Geographical Lines – initiative. It is an initiative that cuts across humanity and gives a New Year’s gift not only to the recipient, not only for January 1, 2010, but for all of future to come. The loop of infinity that opens the zero in 2010 captures the thought – this is a gift beyond 2010.”
