Big Bang Awards 2012, the annual Awards for excellence in communication and media conducted by The Advertising Club Bangalore, has received a record number of entries at 1,020 this year. The Awards would be presented on September 21, 2012. exchange4media is media partner for the Big Bang Awards 2012.
Speaking on the Awards, Prateek Srivastava, President of The Ad Club Bangalore, said, “The Big Bang Awards present a platform to give an impetus to creativity across all levels. The advertising industry is teeming with talent and amazing work and there is a need for it to be seen by all. Through these Awards, we aim to recognise and infuse fresh thinking and nurture the seed of creativity that is growing among people.”
The Big Bang Awards this year will feature eight types of awards for advertising within the Mobile category. Distinguishing PR efforts, internal and external, will be recognised and honoured at the Awards. The evolution of specialised health communication specialists brings about the introduction of this category in the Awards this time.
The Big Bang Awards were constituted over quarter of a century ago, bringing together agencies across the country to share their creative campaigns and network with creative geniuses. The last five years have seen the Big Bang Awards grow in popularity, with Bangalore growing to be the hub of advertising in South India.
Three new categories – Mobiles, PR and Healthcare – were added in 2011. The potential seen in each of these sectors prompted The Ad Club to recognise creative inputs contributed by agencies to their clients in this space. These three categories continue to be the thrust areas this year too, said Malavika Harita, Chairperson of Big Bang Awards and Treasurer of The Advertising Club Bangalore.
The Ad Club Bangalore had also instituted an award for young achievers last year – creative persons under 30 – to recognise and nurture their creative abilities and offer them a platform to showcase their talent.
