After a gala opening ceremony on October 31, 2011, it’s time for some scintillating discussions and passionate debates at the AdAsia 2011, as the luminous line-up of speakers get down to some serious business.
The day’s proceedings will begin on a musical note with past winner of ‘India’s Got Talent’, the Shillong Choir Group performing the anthem of the Republic of AdAsia. Minister of Information & Broadcasting Ambika Soni and Shah Rukh Khan will be the guests of honour.
Ram Charan, author, speaker and business advisor, will deliver the Keynote Address. This will be followed by the session on ‘The Game Changers’ that should throw up some interesting points as Harish Manwani, COO, Unilever & Chairman, HUL Ltd, and Michael Roth, Chairman & Chief Executive Officer, Interpublic, take forward the discussions.
‘Decoding the New Age Consumer’ will be Laxman Narasimhan, Director, New Delhi, McKinsey & Company Inc, and Koichi Yamamoto, General Manager, Global Solutions Center, Dentsu. The session will also have a special presentation by Adil Zainulbhai, MD - India, McKinsey & Company Inc.

The session will have as speakers: Akira Kagami, Global Executive Creative Advisor, Dentsu; Bruce Haines, Chief Strategy Officer, Cheil Worldwide; Kitty Lun, CEO, Lowe China; and Piyush Pandey, Executive Chairman and CD, South Asia, Ogilvy & Mather India. Tom Doctoroff, JWT, North Asia Area Director, Greater China CEO, will moderate this session.
Nikesh Arora, Senior Vice President and Chief Business Officer, Google, will share with the distinguished gathering how ‘Conversation’ can be a ‘Route To Driving Certainty’. Arora will reveal to the distinguished gathering what Google did right, which would be a guide-post for any business when it wants to convert the current perception of complexity to its advantage.
‘From Chat Rooms to Twitter… What next?’ will present several points to ponder for Kate Day, Communities Editor, Daily Telegraph Online; Arvind Rajan, Managing Director & Vice President, Asia Pacific and Japan, LinkedIn; and Earl Wilkinson, Executive Director and CEO, INMA. The session will be moderated by Rishad Tobaccowala, Chief Strategy and Innovation Officer, VivaKi.
Kurush Grant, Executive Director, ITC; Sanjay Kapoor, CEO, Bharti Airtel Limited, India & South Asia; and Ravi Swaminathan, Managing Director & Regional Vice President (Sales & Marketing), AMD South Asia, will seek to chart out the footprint to make India a truly global brand in the next decade in the concluding session of Day One, aptly titled ‘India 2020’. Session moderator Pankaj Ghemawat, Global Strategist, will also give a presentation on the topic.
