ZenithOptimedia is continuing with its winning streak this year. Following the victory in the Honda Siel media pitch, it is understood that the agency has now been awarded the media duties of Japanese electronics major Toshiba.
The client and the agency were not available for the confirmation of the development but sources informed that the decision has been made.
Percept Group’s media arm Allied Media was the incumbent on the business. Industry sources peg the account size in the vicinity of Rs 40 crore.
Sources close to the development informed that apart from ZO and Allied, there were five other agencies in the fray for the business. Details on all five were not available with exchange4media.
The pitch was called last month. It should be noted here that ZenithOptimedia also handles Videocon’s media business in India, which is a major player in the consumer electronics business. It would be interesting to see how the agency manages the two businesses, given the possibility of conflict.
