ZenithOptimedia has bagged the digital mandate for one India’s largest telecom brands, Airtel, confirm highly placed sources.
Madison Media handles the media duties for the account, while JWT and Taproot India handle the creative duties of the brand.
Being awarded the digital duties of Airtel is great news for ZenithOptimedia. The agency did not have a great year last year, with the loss of an account like Reckitt Beckinser. In 2014, the agency was recently also appointed as the media planning and buying partner for Viber and Fab Furnish.
The digital medium has assumed an increased importance for Airtel, with its campaigns such as Airtel Money, and ‘Har ek friend zaroori hota hai’ getting a good response on this medium, and moreover reaching out to the youth audience.
